LUBBOCK, TX -- Melissa Renee Deleon, 34, of Lubbock, pleaded guilty on Friday to federal charges. Deleon admitted that she lied to IRS agents who were investigating Z & Z Bookkeeping. Court records say Deleon and other employees of Z & Z falsified customers’ tax returns. Deleon is not currently in custody and she will be sentenced at a later date to no more than five years in federal prison.
Deleon also faces state charges for allegations that she took $10,000 last year from a local business. The theft case is still pending.
