LUBBOCK, Texas- The 5th Annual Bridge Bash is a back-to-school clothing giveaway offered to low-income families in Lubbock and surrounding communities.

Through collaborating with VOICES of the South Plains Community Coalition and 100 Black Men of West Texas, this event will provide clothing and school supplies to hundreds of families in preparation for the upcoming 2013-2014 academic year.

This event will take place on August 24, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bridge of Lubbock (1301 E. Redbud Ave).

The 5th annual Bridge Bash is collaborating with Bodyworks and Mr. Gatti's to provide a scene of entertainment for guests.

With free admission, children may rejoice in a rock-climbing wall, spider climb, face painting, and balloon animals.

Carnival games including tug-of-war, hula-hoops, sack races, plinko, and ring/penny tosses will be provided.

To ensure the repeated success of the event, the Bridge of Lubbock is seeking volunteers to restore the foundation of hope in the community.

Volunteers are encouraged to participate in the event through the organization of clothing, supervision of carnival games, and cleaning.

If you are interested in donating or volunteering you may contact Ashlei Watson at (806) 687-0772 or awatson@bridgeoflubbock.org <mailto:awatson@bridgeoflubbock.org> to register.

The Bridge of Lubbock is also seeking donations of bottled water and packaged snacks for children and their families participating in the event.

Donations can be dropped off any Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10am - 1pm or you may call to make an appointment.
