Tonight was a big night for several of our area high school teams, as the boys open up district play and perhaps no bigger match-up than in 4-4A between Frenship and Monterey.

The Plainsmen looked to keep rolling along in the Tiger Pit this evening.

In the second, Tigers in transition, Brendon Jackson spotted Chandler Casey at the top and he knocked down the long ball, 29-22 Tigers.

But Monterey showed some big time defense as Devin McMillian had a monster block and then rewarding himself at the other end with a nice jumper in the paint, Plainsmen trailed 35-29 at that point.

Then Tigers with the ball, Trevor Bennett found the hot hands of Casey who spotted and dropped one down for another trey, 38-29 Tigers.

Marcos Shuster scored 45 of the teams 68 points as the Tigers win a thriller 68-62.
