Groundwater Gurus from All Over TX Headed to Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX -- The Texas Groundwater Association will meet this coming week in Lubbock at the Overton Hotel and the Civic Center.

Groundwater is becoming a more sensitive issue in Texas.  The numbers for this most recent year are not yet available but in 2012 the underground water table in the South Plains dropped almost two feet on average.  Lake levels have also been depleted by ongoing drought. Lake Alan Henry, for example, was 73.7% full in late January of 2013.  Currently it is 64.9%.

While in Lubbock TGA annual convention participants from all over Texas will learn about new laws & regulations along with safety issues.  Licensed water well drillers and pump installers will have the chance to earn continuing education credits at the convention.

The convention is January 29-31.
