A few local gymnasts competed the weekend of December 14th, in Allen, at the Texas State Level 4 Championships.

Out of the 4 girls: 1 girl won 1st Place making her the State Vault, State Beam, and State Floor Level 4 Champion for the entire State of Texas in her age division. She also won the All-Around Level 4 State Champion for her age group.

Another girl won being the State Vault Champion for the entire State of Texas and also placing 2nd All-Around for her age division for the entire State of Texas.

The other two girls also earned medals in different events and just being able to represent West Texas and the South Plains.

This is a huge representation for the West Texas and especially the South Plains community to be able to compete against girls from throughout the state.

All 4 girls attend gymnastics at TEGA Kids Sportsplex. These girls train year round to try to qualify for the state competition. They must first qualify in a local district meet and district championship. Then they must compete in a regional competition called North State. At the North State Competition all 4 girls win numerous North State awards and then finally were able tom compete at the Level 4 Texas State Meet.
