We've been telling you all week about Lubbock Meals on Wheel's "Easy As Pie" campaign.
For just 5 dollars you get a free pie and help out Meals on Wheels.
There's just a few more days.
Today, KLBK's Joshua Cole Little followed one couple who volunteers with the organization to see how your donations through the "Easy As Pie" fundraiser will go to help people in need this holiday season.
David and Rosalyn Hunt have been working with Lubbock Meals on Wheels for two years now.
"When he retired I decided this was something we could do together. And so we do it two days a week," said Rosalyn Hunt.
Two days a week they pick up hot meals to take on their route to take to residents like Helen Parkarst, a 104 year old woman living alone.
"Oh well its a great help. You know because i dont like to try to cook anymore. My hand doesn't work," said Parkarst.
Helen is just one of 625 Lubbock residents who receives a meal everyday.
"Obviously that's a big grocery bill so events like "Easy As Pie" help to fund those purchases," said Lisa Gilliland with Lubbock Meals on Wheels.
For the remainder of this week anyone who makes a 5 dollar donation to meals on wheels gets a coupon for a Sara Lee pie.
Its because of events like this and especially made possible by you, that people like Helen Parkarst are able to have a hot meal and see a friendly face... Especially this holiday season.
"You know its just you're seeing the people that just really kept in the house by themselves basically... But its been an experience. I'll put it that way," said David Hunt.
"I just think its a very good thing to do. Watch out for your fellow man. You know there's been times that we've seen a family in true need and we've gone above and beyond meals on wheels to do what we can to help." said Rosalyn Hunt.
Meals on Wheels plans to raise 50 thousand dollars through the Easy As Pie fundraiser. They're more than half way there already.
Make sure you go out and get yours.
And of course Lubbock Meals on Wheels is always looking for more volunteers to help deliver.
