Howl-O-Ween Dog Run taking donations for the Morris Safe House

The Morris Safe House is the only no-kill shelter in the Lubbock area and they exist solely on grants and donations

This Saturday at Canyon Lake people and pooches alike can dress up and run in the 2nd annual Howl-O-Ween Dog Run.

The Howl-O-Ween dog run is a 1-point-2 mile or 4 mile run with your dog, and once you hit the finish line there are also pet friendly events.

West Texas Endurance is hosting the race and asking participants to bring in donations like dog biscuits, leashes, and other basic pet care items to donate to the Morris Safe House.

There will be a dog costume contest, a dog kissing booth, dog pedicures, and many others.

It's 35 dollars for a person and a pet, 25 dollars for a child and a pet, or 30 dollars for a person running without a pet.

You can pick up your race packet Friday October 25th from 4 to 6 pm at Cardinals Sports at Slide and the loop.

You can also sign up for the race if you haven't yet online at www.westtexasendurance.com

You can also register early on race day at 7:30, the dog costume contest is at 8:30, and the races begin at 9:00.

The Race is at Canyon Lake #6.
