LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Kennedy Kithuka officially earned All-America honors for the second-straight season as announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Monday.
Kithuka finished runner-up at the 2013 NCAA Cross Country Championship Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind. crossing the finish line with a time of 29:59.1 in the 10,000-meter race.
The senior and Thika, Kenya native won seven of eight races during the 2013 season while capturing both the Big 12 and Mountain Region Cross Country Championships in the process. Kithuka is a two-time national champion and is now a four-time USTFCCCA All-American as a member of the Texas Tech track and field and cross country programs.
Kithuka will compete as a senior on the Red Raider Track and Field team during the 2014 outdoor season.
