LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – No. 18 Texas Tech dominated play at the Little Rock Classic, as the Lady Raiders won four of a possible five flight titles at the tournament held at the Country Club of Little Rock over the weekend.
Kenna Kilgo, Lynn Kiro and Sarah Toti each captured their flight titles, while Kilgo and Samantha Adams captured the overall doubles title.
“I am really proud of our effort this weekend,” said Petty. “We were able to fight through some matches and I was happy to see Kenna, Lynn, Sarah and Sam with their flights.”
No. 98 Kilgo topped Houston’s Elaina Kordolaimi, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a comeback fashion to claim the Flight 2 title, while Kiro earned the Flight 3 title with a walkover victory. Toti picked up a straight-set win over Ole Miss’ Allie Robbins, 6-4, 6-3 to win the Flight 4 crown.
Adams and Kilgo, who are ranked ninth nationally, went undefeated in doubles and captured the tournament doubles title. Kiro and Toti defeated Skylar Kuykendall and Alissa Hibberd of Memphis, 8-4, to finish the tournament fifth overall.
