Lubbock Musea Participate in Smithsonian's Museum Day

The Buddy Holly Center and Silent Wings Museum will be part of Smithsonian Magazine’s 8th annual Museum Day this Saturday

On Saturday, September 28, 2013, the City of Lubbock Municipal Museums, Buddy Holly Center and Silent Wings Museum, will participate in Smithsonian Magazine’s 8th annual Museum Day. The Municipal Museums of Lubbock will join participating museums and cultural institutions nationwide to open their doors, free of charge, to all visitors who download the Museum Day ticket from Smithsonian.com. Museum Day is a journey to celebrate our world’s dynamic heritage and cultural life. Participating Museum Day venues emulate the free admission policy of the Smithsonian Institution’s facilities based in Washington, D.C.

Visit www.smithsonian.com/museumday to download your Museum Day admission card. Visitors who present the official pass will gain free admission for two people to participating museums and cultural venues. One ticket is permitted per household, per email address. Listing and links to the sites of participating museums and sponsors can be found at www.smithsonian.com/museumday.
