Lubbock's Salvation Army Emergency Cold Shelter Wed. Night

The Salvation Army will be open as a warming station and emergency shelter starting Wednesday, January 22 at 6pm until weather conditions improve on Friday.
LUBBOCK, TX (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Salvation Army will be open as a warming station and emergency shelter starting Wednesday, January 22 at 6pm until weather conditions improve on Friday. Emergency cots will be available for any emergency situations or walk-ins.

The Survive the Night program will be activated on Thursday night to provide a warm meal, blankets, gloves, socks, etc. to anyone found on the streets during the freezing weather. The Canteen will leave The Salvation Army around 6pm.

The Homeless Consortium will also be conducting a Point-in-Time count in coordination with the Survive the Night outreach. The Point-in-Time count is a time for volunteers to actively find homeless people in the city of Lubbock to provide an accurate count and statistics on the homeless situation.
