LUBBOCK, TX – Jeffrey McKinney, 51, pleaded guilty Monday to murder for stabbing his brother to death in 2011. McKinney accepted a prison sentence of 12 years as part of the plea bargain.
Police said McKinney stabbed his younger brother, Caveness “Shaun” McKinney, more than once in their mother’s East Lubbock home. McKinney’s brother died later at University Medical Center.
McKinney had been free on bond while the murder charge was pending. He was booked into the Lubbock County Jail Monday morning at approximately 10:00 AM.
