Below is a statement released today by Coach Todd Pearson.

"I notified Coach Mark Ball today of my intent to step down as head football coach and athletic coordinator for Monterey High School. I am very proud of the programs at Monterey, and have been blessed to work with many great athletes and coaches. My sincere appreciation goes to the parents, students, and the Lubbock Independent School District for giving me the opportunity to lead Plainsmen athletics. I wish you continued success." Todd Pearson, Monterey High School Head Football Coach and Athletic Coordinator

Mark Ball, LISD executive director of athletics said, "Coach Pearson is a man of integrity and character. His dealings with players, coaching staff and game officials are always professional and courteous. He has led the Plainsmen to the playoffs four of the past five football seasons, but more importantly he has been a positive role model for his student athletes and prepared them for living a life of character."
