The City of Lubbock Solid Waste Services department announces the opening of two new
Recycling & Citizen Convenience Stations. These new drop-off stations will better serve
residents in southwest and northwest Lubbock. New sites are:
South Milwaukee - 7308 Milwaukee (73rd & Milwaukee, west of the Water ground
North Quaker - 4307 Adrian Street (N. Quaker & Adrian, north of the Water ground
These two new drop-off additions will join the other two drop-off sites, 208 Municipal Drive and
1631 84th Street, in offering City of Lubbock residents bulky item disposal and recycling
Hours of operation for all sites are from Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m
Residents will be able to recycle the following items, as accepted in the City's recycling
program: office paper, cardboard, pasteboard, newspaper, plastic PETE1, plastic HDPE2, tin,
aluminum, and white good (used appliances). The drop-off stations will include the recycling of
5 gallons or less of used oil, used antifreeze and used oil filters for Do-It-Yourselfers.
Residents using the drop-off section designated for the proper disposal of household bulky items,
will be asked to present a driver's license with a City of Lubbock address. Per state law, access
is exclusive to residents of the City of Lubbock hauling household items from their own single family
A pick-up load or less of the following are the only items accepted: old furniture, old appliances,
scrap metals, and small loads of yard waste.
