Release from City of Lubbock

Beginning on Monday, August 26, 2013, Erskine Street between Indiana Avenue and Texas Tech Parkway will be closed to through traffic for construction activities associated with the Northwest Lubbock Drainage Improvements Project and expected to last approximately 7 months.

The portion of Erskine Street immediately west of Indiana Avenue will be open for local traffic only, but closed to through traffic.

Residents along Memphis Avenue and Erskine Street will have access via Memphis Avenue from North Loop 289.

This closure has been coordinated with the TXDOT bridge construction efforts that are currently ongoing at Texas Tech Parkway, Erskine Street, and Quaker Avenue.

Open trenching operations are currently on Grinnell Street east of Knoxville Avenue and expect to move to Erskine Street in the next two weeks.

Material and equipment staging is necessary in the Erskine Street right-of-way in preparation for operations to move to the Erskine Street corridor.

This portion of Erskine Street will be closed to through-traffic during the construction activity associated with the installation of a storm sewer box pipe.

Traffic detours will be set up at locations where construction activity will occur, and citizens are encouraged to use caution while traveling in this area.
