Gov. Rick Perry says his fourth visit to Israel was another chance to show off Texas as a global trade leader.

Perry said Wednesday he met with business and economic leaders in Israel and London during his 10-day trip. Speaking to reporters by phone from Israel, Perry said it was a chance to "open discussions" with businesses that might be considering expanding overseas but didn't mention specific companies.

Perry also described plans to create a Texas A&M University campus in Israel as "historic." The university this week announced plans to open a "peace university" in Nazareth, Israel's largest Arab city.

The campus will feature a combination of Arab, Jewish and international students. Perry said he wants to see the Nazareth branch as a means to "move the peace process forward."
