The principal resigned after the punishment of students involved the clean up of human feces.
MCCAMEY - Gaylon Doan, the Mccamey principal turned in his resignation Friday. Mccamey Superintendent, Jan Hunt confirmed with Big 2 (permianbasin360.com) that Gaylon Doan resigned after a public outcry over Doan punishing students by having them clean up human feces.
The district said in a statement that they have "spent extensive time with the Department of State Health Services and will follow guidelines by that department."
In the release, the district claims that the Department of State Health Services says while exposure to human feces is an unhealthy practice, there should not be a severe health threat.
