Raider Red Back in Capital One Mascot of the Year Contest

Last year Raider Red won the Capital One Mascot of the Year title and is looking for a second win

The 2012 Capital One Mascot of the year was Raider Red getting Texas Tech getting bragging rights and 20,000 dollars for the Texas Tech Spirit Program.

Stephanie Rhode, Spirit Program Director, said last year there was only one way to vote but now there are more ways to get the win.

"There are three different ways to vote this year which is unusual. You can vote the good old fashioned way by just clicking on raider red endlessly on raider red's symbol."

You can also answer a weekly challenge question using the hashtag #CapitalOneRaiderRed on Facebook or twitter for 25 points or take a photo or create a video for 100 points.

Last year the Spirit Program put tons of time and some of their money into winning but this year Rhode said their goal is to make it to the final 4.

"Of course we still want to win but we receive money if we're a finalist so that's what we're pushing for."

While the goal for this year is just the finals Rhode said another win would acknowledge Raider Red is a national known mascot.

"The money was great but more than that we wanted people across the country to know Texas Tech is Raider Red...We want that kind of recognition and I think winning again, we've got it."

To vote you can go to www.capitalonebowl.com and click on Raider Red or you can vote one of the two new ways using twitter or Facebook.

Be sure to use the hashtag #CapitalOneRaiderRed when you put down your answer or take a fun photo or video.

Voting ends December 15th.
