The Red Raiders got a stiff challenge from the Texas Southern Tigers and Mike Davis on Monday Night but they were able to escape with an 80-71 win.

The team tied a school record with 12 blocks in the contest, led by Kadir Tapsoba with 4. Jaye Crockett was the games leading scorer with 21 points and seven rebounds. Four other Tech players finished in Double figures, Dusty Hannahs with 19, Robert Turner with 15 and Jordan Tolbert finished with 11 points.

For Texas Southern, West Virginia Transfer Aaric Murray spent most of his night in foul trouble and finished with just 8 points while the Tigers were led in scoring by Jose Rodriguez with 29 points to go along with his 10 rebounds.

Next up for the Red Raiders, they will Host South Dakota State on Thursday night before heading to Brooklyn for the final rounds of the Progressive, Legends Classic next week.
