Last week Baker Mayfield made known his intentions to transfer from Texas Tech, but did not say where he was transferring to.
Thursday morning, The Austin-American Statesman reported that Mayfield planned to enroll in January at Oklahoma and walk on to the football team. Oklahoma currently has four scholarship quarterbacks and a fifth on the way in the spring. According to NCAA rules Texas Tech cannot block Baker from moving schools, because he was not a scholarship player at Texas Tech, but wherever he goes he will have to sit out for a year. Reports coming out through the day on Thursday however indicate Oklahoma knows nothing about these intentions.
