Texas Tech home games mean lots of business for bars and restaurants near the Jones and Andrew Gotsis, Ruby Tequilas Assistant Manager, said he expects a very large crowd.
"Saturday you're already busy, you add a game in there and it gets wild. A Thursday game I think it's going to be pretty big too just because of who we are playing."
Gotsis said customers should prepare for every restaurant around the Jones to be very busy.
"It's going to pack the house. A lot of the businesses around here are going to experience long wait times stuff like that."
Gotsis expects to make a lot more money for the restaurant than a usual Thursday night, and the bartenders and servers can expect to make more money as well.
"We double our staff on that day. It's one of those things; we wouldn't be able to do it without them."
While some hotels in the area are upset by the loss of a weekend stay Gotsis said he is ready for a busy Thursday night.
"It's good for the business, it's good for the crowds; it’s a lot of fun."
Kickoff for the Texas Tech game against Texas Christian University is at 6:30 pm.
