Smoke Shop Robbed; Employee Shot At

Police were called to One Stop Smoke Shop on 50th street for aggravated robbery around 8:30 Thursday night.

Store clerks at One Stop Smoke Shop confirm there were two women working and one security officer on duty.

The clerks said the man came into the store when he requested to look at two separate pipes.

He asked the clerk to look at a spare part and once she turned around she said he took off out the door.

She then said their security officer went outside to check for licenses plates and that is when he was shot at.

The store released to us a picture of the person they say is the man who robbed them.

Lubbock police were called to One Stop Smoke Shop at 815 50th street around 8:30 Thursday night for an aggravated robbery.

The police desk said a man went in the drive through where he robbed the shop.

While driving away police said the employee tried to look for a license plate number, that is when the suspect fired at least one shot at the employee.

A few hours later, just around midnight, a K-9 unit spotted the vehicle around the 7000 block of I-27.

Police said the suspect stopped at first and then fled to an alleyway around the 8100 block of Avenue D.

Police said the suspect got out of the vehicle and ran, leaving behind a young woman in the car. 

She was arrested on unrelated charges.

The police desk said after a ground and aerial search the driver was not found.
