LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech soccer team moved up one spot to No. 23 in the NSCAA/Continental Tire rankings released this afternoon.
The ranking comes after the Red Raiders went 2-0 to open the 2013 season this weekend with victories over New Mexico and Colorado State. It marks the highest ranking in school history after the Red Raiders opened the season at No. 24 in the NSCAA Preseason Poll.
Texas Tech defeated New Mexico 1-0 in the season opener in Albuquerque before returning home and routing Colorado State by a score of 6-0 on Sunday.
The Red Raiders continue their season-long five match homestand this weekend as Tech hosts Idaho State Friday before facing Long Beach State Sunday – both at the John Walker Soccer Complex. Tech has won 12 of its last 13 matches at home dating back to October 2011.
First kick for Friday’s match with Idaho State is set for 7 p.m.
