Red Raiders Competing Among the Best in NCAA Men’s Golf
WINDEMERE, Fla. – The Texas Tech men’s golf team begins the first round of its final fall tournament when Tech tees it up on Saturday at the Isleworth Intercollegiate Invitational at Isleworth Country Club.
Tech, No. 35 in the latest Golfstat.com Rankings, will be joined by No. 1 Alabama, No. 18 Arkansas, No. 4 California, No. 29 Florida State, No. 31 Georgia Regents-Augusta, No. 6 Illinois, LSU, No. 11 New Mexico, North Florida, No. 48 TCU, No. 15 Texas, No. 16 UCF, No. 47 UNLV and No. 23 Vanderbilt.
The Red Raiders are coming off a one-month break following an eighth place finish at the Olympia Fields Illini Invitational in Illinois. Junior Matias Dominguez led the charge for the Red Raiders in Illinois with his first top-10 finish of the season (tied for ninth) and third of his career.
Dominguez leads all Tech golfers with a 73.2 scoring average this fall with four of five rounds at 73 or better.
This will be the team's seventh appearance at the Isleworth Invitational since the tournament began in 2004.
The teams will tee off beginning at 8 a.m., each day of the 54-hole tournament which will conclude on Monday. Live stats are available at Golfstat.com.
