LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech placed 10 Red Raiders on the Academic All-Big 12 team including a league-leading three student-athletes with perfect 4.0 grade point averages as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
All 10 of Texas Tech’s selections earned First Team honors while Hayley Haagsma (Senior/Human Development), Jaelene Hinkle (Junior/Human Sciences) and Conner Whitfield (Senior/Chemistry) were recognized for obtaining a perfect 4.0 GPAs.
Representing the Red Raiders on the Academic All-Big 12 First Team were Jessica Disabella (Senior/Animal Science), Victoria Esson (Senior/Interdisciplinary Studies), Hayley Haagsma (Senior/Human Development and Family Studies), Caity Heap (Sophomore/Exercise Sports Sciences), Jaelene Hinkle (Junior/Human Sciences), Alli Murphy (Sophomore/Civil Engineering), Briana Rohmer (Sophomore/Marketing), Paige Strahan (Junior/Human Development and Family Studies), Conner Whitfield (Senior/Chemistry) and Mallory Yacullo (Senior/Sociology).
Texas Tech finished a program-best second in the Big 12 after completing the regular season 16-1-2 overall and unbeaten in conference play. The Red Raiders face TCU Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City.
