The 14th Annual Toys for Tots Tennis Scramble for Juniors and Adults is scheduled to take place at the Burgess Rushing Tennis Center this Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The entry fee for this Scramble is one unwrapped new toy with a value of $5 or more, which will be donated to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program. Participants will be treated to Blanca’s homemade Taco Soup and the South Plains Tennis Association will provide desserts and bread for the event. If you are unable to participate, your donation will still be accepted and appreciated. This event is sponsored by City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation Department, South Plains Tennis Association, and The Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center.
The Burgess-Rushing Tennis Center is owned and operated by Lubbock Parks and Recreation and is located at 3030 66th Street. The center is open year round and offers sixteen lighted courts, a full-service pro-shop, memberships, lessons, clinics, tournaments, bleachers and ball machine rentals.
