This Saturday besides beating down the bobcats the Red Raiders will also be celebrating cotton.
It's the second annual Celebrate Cotton game and Steve Verett, Plains Cotton Growers Executive Vice President, said there will be bales of cotton with fun facts around the stadium and cotton farming equipment.
"So it's truly going to be an opportunity for the public to be able to see not only examples of cotton itself, physical cotton, but to see the equipment and the investment it takes on the producers part to grow, harvest, and bring a crop into the economy."
Elvis Moya, Texas Tech Director of Promotions and Fan Engagement, said fans can also get some free swag.
"We are looking forward to having...some different fan fest area festivities which include free posters, t-shirts for the first 5,000 fans and some different give away's so its going to be really exciting for our fans."
Moya said Fans are encouraged to wear white for the cotton celebration at the first sold out game of the season.
"It's a sell out we are really excited we've got student seating 12,500. We want to pack the house. We want all of our fans to wear white. We want to continue to celebrate the cotton industry as well as the Red Raider football tradition inside the Jones Stadium.
Verett said even if you don't have a ticket to the game you can still come out to learn about and support the cotton growing community.
"If you're not able to get a ticket and you haven't already secured that ticket we encourage you to come out, look at the displays we've talked about, and just take part in the celebration and the fun that's going to take place on campus this weekend."
Kickoff for the Texas Tech vs Texas State game is at 6:00 pm.
