Texas Tech Soccer Blanks Texas, 1-0

The Red Raiders finish the Big 12 season unbeaten for the first time in Big 12 history.
Texas Tech's Janine Beckie scored her team-leading ninth goal in the third minute to help Texas Tech to a 1-0 win over Texas Friday.

The one-goal lead was more than enough for goalkeeper Victoria Esson, who recorded her 13th shutout of the season in the win.

Texas Tech finishes the regular season with a record of 16-1-2 and 6-0-2 in Big 12 play.  It's the first time in program history they have finished conference play unbeaten.

Head coach Tom Stone was serving a one-game suspension from the NCAA for exceeding his yellow card limit for the season.

The Red Raiders are the two-seed in the upcoming Big 12 Championships.

They open play with seven-seed TCU on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. at the Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City.
