Texas Tech University Press (TTUP) will celebrate the Association of American University Presses’ (AAUP) second annual University Press Week on Nov. 10-16.
University Press Week is a nationwide event highlighting the work of all university presses and their many contributions to culture, the academy and society. TTUP has been Texas Tech’s publishing arm since 1971 and a member of the AAUP since 1987.
TTUP will be offering these free events to the public:
· TTUP Open House Reception: 3–5 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 12) on the ninth floor of the Media and Communication Building. Tour TTUP facility and visit with staff. Refreshments will be provided by Top Tier Catering.
· “Meet Your Press”: A Publishing Roundtable: 2 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 14) Room 155 in the Media and Communication Building. TTUP staff members will speak about their roles in developing, designing, printing, marketing and selling books. Discussion is aimed at people interested in publishing a book, starting a career in publishing or supporting literature and the arts.
· University Press Week Book Sale: Monday– Friday (Nov. 11-15) receive a discount of 30 percent on all walk-in book purchases and a discount of 50 percent during TTUP Open House Reception hours.
