LUBBOCK- Get ready to save more on your energy bills as we say goodbye to an old staple around the house: incandescent light bulbs.

"The incandescent is what everybody's been used to using for the last 100 years," said assistant manager at Sutherland's Hardware store, Gilbert Gonzales.

You're going to start seeing things in a whole new light.

Thomas Edison's invention, the incandescent light bulb, will no longer be made.

Gonzales said many manufacturers have already stopped making them.

"Evidently my supplier already has because they're just not available anymore," said Gonzales. "The LED is going to take the place of everything else."

LED bulbs, though more expensive, are more energy efficient, and save you money on your electric bill.

One shopper at Sutherland's said he's all for the change.

"The LED bulbs are a lot better quality light, and I love the savings about it. Every bulb that I'm replacing now is going to be the LED."
