Thursday Water Conservation Tip

Here is your Water Conservation Tip of the Day!
Unfortunately West Texas is still in a major drought and it is up to all of us to help out during this time.  The KAMC Weather Lab will be posting Water Conservation Tips over the next few months.  Today's tip is "Use sprinklers for large areas of grass.  Water small patches by hand to avoid waste."

Tip #1:  If you accidentally drop ice cubes while filling your water glass, drop them on a house plant instead of throwing them in the sink.

Tip #2:  Plan ahead and defrost food in the refrigerator instead of running hot water over it.

Tip #3:  Keep a bucket in the shower to catch water as it warms up or runs.  Then use this water on your plants!

Tip #4:  Collect the water you use for rinsing fruits and vegetables, then reuse it to water houseplants.

Tip #5:  Avoid watering when it is windy to prevent evaporation.

Tip #6:  Run your clothes washer and dishwasher only when they are full.

Tip #7:  Use a broom instead of a hose to clean your sidewalk and driveway.
