LUBBOCK, TX--- Millions of people are expected to be traveling for Christmas and New Years this holiday season.
The Lubbock Airport is stepping up security to make sure that as travelers head out
Everything runs smoothely.
Whether you're flying to see family or just traveling for business. Traveling during the holidays can be a bit stressful. But TSA has some tips that might make it a little bit easier.

"As a person who travels on business quite frequently this time of year, there's a lot more other folks out traveling for other purposes especially personal" said Kim Stevens, one holiday traveler.

Already many Lubbock families and residents are flying out for the holidays.

"I'm traveling with two kids so its a little bit stressful" said Trupti Patel who's traveling to see her sister with her husband and two young children.

AAA expects close to 100 million people out for the holidays.
And 10 million of those expected to fly.
And TSA has some tips to help you get through.

"I mean get here on time and trry to travel light which i guess I'm not" said Patel.

Make sure all your liquids are properly contained.

While its ok to bring wrapped gifts-- TSA may need to and can wrapped packages.

Have electronics ready to be checked.

"Be prepared to stand in line to get your ticket . Be prepared to stand in line through security and just have a lot of patience," said Stevens.

At Preston Smith International Airport, they're  stepping up security to make sure everyone gets through safely.

Many of the travelers we talked to say they're glad to see security doing their job and to simply arrive a little earlier to get through TSA.

"We think about that and w think tsa does a great job and everythigs been pretty secure as far as we see," said the Whiteside family, who are returning home to Los Angeles, California.

"Know that security and peoplel are ther to protect ou and that's all you can do," said Stevens.

There maybe that added security here at the airport just remember to get here early and have that added patience. Because its all to keep you safe at the end.
