TXDOT Advises on Icy Road Conditions

The icy roads have already caused dozens of accidents all across Lubbock. TXDOT advises to stay off roads if possible.

LUBBOCK, TX---Dozens of accidents due to icy road conditions all over the city of Lubbock.
TXDOT has been out since early today treating major roadways. 

Lubbock Police saying more than 65 cars accidents right here in Lubbock since 4:30am.
22 of those involving injuries. 
EMS responding to more than 90 accidents in the city and county. All because of the ice on the roads. 
And its not supposed to let up any time soon.

6 additional counties including:  
Crosby, Dickens, King, Motley, Floyd and Garza counties as of 8 oclock this morning  are experiencing rain and sleet. 
Texas Department of Public Safety also releasing several statements saying: 
Slow down. 
Buckle up. 
Make sure all the ice is off windows on  your vehicles. 
And even let someone know which route you are taking if you're going a little further. 

TXDOT has been working since midnight Thursday salting major roadways, bridges and overpasses as well as major turns and curves in roadways throughout Lubbock County.
