UMC EMS has once again volunteered with the South Plains Food Bank to deliver provisions to those in need at Christmastime.

Over 100 boxes are to be filled with Food Bank items and prepared for pick-up on Thursday morning.

UMC EMS volunteers will arrive at the Food Bank at 10 a.m., load the boxes into ambulances and distribute them to residents at Hillcrest Manor, a senior apartment community located at 1102 N. Memphis Ave.

All involved are looking forward to exchanging holiday cheer during what will be the event's fifth consecutive year.

"The South Plains Food Bank really appreciates the efforts of the UMC EMS reaching out to serve seniors during the holiday season," said David Weaver, CEO, South Plains Food Bank. "Sometimes the elderly are alone for the holidays and delivering Food Bank items is a great way of telling them how special they are and how much they mean to us."
