Wreck Near Wichita Falls Kills Two from Lubbock

A wreck Friday near Wichita Falls kills three, including two women from Lubbock.

A wreck near Wichita Falls kills three women, including two from Lubbock, Friday around 1:30 p.m.

The accident happened on eastbound highway 82, about 14 miles east of Seymour. Witnesses on scene said a black Mustang was heading east on the highway, and tried to pass another car, but didn't see a Chevy Equinox that was heading west at the same time in the wrong lane.

The witnesses said the two cars hit head-on, and the Equinox then burst into flames.
DPS said the female driver of the 2004 Ford Mustang, 19 year old Bethany Loper of Lubbock,and her passenger Brittany Woollis of Seamore were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The 79 year old driver of the 2012 Chevy Equinox Anne Thomas of Seamore was also pronounced dead on the scene.

DPS says both Loper and Woollis were wearing their seatbelts.

DPS is continuing their investigation into this accident.
