We had a night jam packed full of high school football playoff action on Thursday Night and it got started with the district 2-3A champion Shallowater mustangs taking on Dalhart.
Down to class 2A, the Slaton Tigers broke their 7 year playoff drought this year and traveled up to Canyon on Thursday night to take on the Bushland Falcons.
Idalou and Childress squared off in Abilene this evening, on Thursday night in the first round of the playoffs.
The Brownfield Cubs were taking on the Littlefield Wildcats at Plains Capital Park on Thursday night.
The Denver City Mustangs rolled through their regular season to the tune of a perfect 10-0 record but in the first round they had to take on perennial playoff team, the Muleshoe Mules.

A battle of 2-0 teams in District 2-2A Division 2 with Olton playing host to Abernathy Antelope ball in the red zone and going in for the score but a holding penalty will take it back. So they try again the pass is tipped and caught by Olton. They recovered but would not produce and it was Scoreless after one. Abernathy takes this one 35-0.

Speaking of the westerners they were down in the Concho Valley trying to keep their playoff hopes alive. The chiefs would get the ball first in the game and would go right to work on 3rd and long they give it there stud player in Eli Peterson who is gonna do more than just get the first down he is gonna take to the house for a 75 yard touchdown run to get the chiefs on the board first. 7-0 Lake view. The westerners would respond, after a couple of big gains from their running backs the Lubbock High quarterback Cory Schovanec is going to keep it himself for a 3 yard TD run that would tie the game at 7. After a three and out by the chiefs Lubbock High would capitalize on this nice pass from QB Schovanec to senior wide reviver Dom Zuniga for a 26 yard touchdown strike. Lubbock up 14 to 7 4. But the chiefs weren't done putting points on the board as quarterback nick Martinez is going to fake the hand off and keep it himself for a 11 yard touchdown run that would tie the game at 14.

Week eight of the high school football season has finally arrived, with teams all around the South Plains positioning themselves for the post season, while others fight to stay alive.
Tomorrow night the Lubbock High Westerners will make the long trip down to the Concho Valley to take on the Lake View Chiefs, in what is as close to a must win as the Westerners can get.
Tomorrow night, Kent Jackson and the Coronado Mustangs are trying to fight back from a brutal loss last week at the hands of the Abilene High Eagles.
Its that time of the year again in High School Football, with three weeks left we have teams jockeying for position to try and punch their ticket into the playoffs.

Hey there and welcome back to the week two edition of the West Texas Chevy Dealers Friday Night Blitz, and we continue on in district 2-3a with the Shallowater Mustangs who were pushed to the brink by Littlefield last week, and got a scare with Jarek Black limping off the field with a knee sprain.
And Brownfield playing host to Andrews tonight out at Cub Stadium.
And a Big 2-a match-up in 2a tonight with Idalou visiting Littlefield.
The Bulldogs of Plainview looked for their first win of the year last night at Canyon.
The Lubbock Cooper Pirates finally got off the schnide last week, by getting a one-point win over the Snyder Tigers; but they had another tough game this evening against a team they beat last season at Lowrey field, and it was this weeks Ray-Lee Equipment Game of the Week.
The Frenship Tigers have also looked impressive in the first two weeks of the season, after a 55-17 drubbing of the Permian Panthers a week ago at home; but this evening it was back on the road to take on El Paso El Dorado.
We start with the 2-0 Coronado Mustangs, who opened District 2-5A play against the Central Bobcats tonight.
