KAMC HD Storm Team Weather Webcast 12.05.17

LUBBOCK, TX AND SOUTH PLAINS - KAMC's Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O'Brien has the forecast for 12.05.17.

TODAY: A cold front arrived overnight and temperatures have dropped. Temperatures are forecast to reach the 40s for highs. The sky will be mostly overcast today and there will be an increased chance of isolated rain/snow showers this afternoon. Initial precipitation will likely evaporate in the dry surface air. But, as the humidity rises, a light dusting of snow is possible on grassy areas, especially northwest of Lubbock. Off the Caprock to the east, precipitation will likely stay as rain. Roadways will likely stay wet, not icy, for the afternoon commute, but be cautious.

TONIGHT: The light band of precipitation will move southwards overnight. Accumulations of about half an inch of snow is possible if that band moves over your area. Temperatures are likely to dip into the upper 20s for lows.

TOMORROW: Any lingering precipitation will cease by the afternoon hours, but clouds stick with us. High temperatures will be in the 40s once again.
