Short Term Forecast:
After a chilly start this morning in the 30s, we warmed up nicely this afternoon across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains into the lower 70s. Like the last several days, we've seen some high clouds streaming across the region. We'll keep the high clouds around tonight and on Monday. Overnight lows tonight will be warmer, with low to middle 40s area wide. Warm and breezy conditions are expected on Monday with highs back into the upper 70s. Elevated wildfire conditions are expect Monday afternoon.
Long range forecast models are still not looking promising for any precipitation chances across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains. After a very warm day on Monday, we'll cool back into the middle 60s across the area on Tuesday and Wednesday. We'll fall back into the middle 50s on Thursday and climb back to the upper 50s to lower 60s on Friday. Temperatures will warm back into the upper 60s to lower 70s next weekend. Overnight lows will be in the middle 40s Tuesday morning. Even cold morning lows are expected Wednesday morning with upper 20s and lower 30s. Lows will be in the middle 30s Thursday morning and then fall back into the upper 20s Friday morning. Morning lows next weekend will be into the middle and upper 30s.
