LUBBOCK, TX (KLBK WEATHER) - Here is your updated forecast from the KLBK First Warning Weather Center as of Thursday morning:
Short Term Forecast:
It's the last day of November and we have a cold front moving across the South Plains and the Rolling Plains this morning. There's not really that much cold air behind the front. In fact, highs today will be pretty close to where they were on Wednesday. While there has been some clearing this morning in spots, we expect high clouds to stick around today, tonight and on Friday here on the South Plains and the Rolling Plains. This will keep us partly sunny today, mostly cloudy tonight and partly sunny once again on Friday.
The extended forecast shows we'll start a warming trend heading into the weekend here on the South and Rolling Plains. Highs will be back into the middle and upper 60s on Friday, the lower to middle 70s on Saturday and the middle and upper 70s on Sunday. We'll start to cool back down next week as highs fall back into the upper 60s and lower 70s on Monday. It'll get even colder on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs only the upper 40s and lower 50s. Forecast models are hinting at some slight precipitation chances Tuesday night and on Wednesday. Overnight lows over the weekend and early next week will be into the 40s. Lows will fall back into the 20s by the middle of next week.
