LUBBOCK, TX - Happy Thursday everyone! After a mild start to the work week, a strong cold front is slowly approaching the region that will be quite the game changer in our weather pattern. We will see pre-frontal warming this afternoon ahead of the front that will push our temperatures back into the low 80's, but by tomorrow afternoon our high temperatures will struggle to reach the mid-50's. Another issue to keep in mind is that winds will be strong this evening and throughout the day on Friday which will cause it to feel a whole lot colder outside. We are also watching for an isolated chance for rain/frost by Friday morning so make sure to take it slow on your commute to work or school. The coldest time frame will come on Friday night into Saturday morning as temperatures drop into mid-20's. That means it is imperative to bring your pets and potted plants indoors early Friday evening. It is also important to bundle up for all the area wide high school football games going on Friday night. Thankfully, by Sunday we will start to see temperatures get back into the low 70's with more sunshine on tap. However, another front will push through on Tuesday that will bring cooler temperatures and possible rain to the region on our Halloween holiday so make sure to stay tuned for updates.
