Kathleen Barkley is excited to continue her broadcasting career in Lubbock as the anchor KAMC’s Good Morning Lubbock
While she’s originally from Louisiana, Kathleen has called Texas home for more than a decade. She grew up primarily in Sweetwater, then went back to Louisiana to finish college at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. There, she majored in Communications with a minor in English. She served as a news and sports anchor for NSUTV where she confirmed her love for broadcast news. She also wrote for the award-winning NSU Potpourri Yearbook.
After college, Kathleen moved back to West Texas and landed her first job at KTAB/KRBC in Abilene. She quickly moved up the ranks, starting as Multi-Media Journalist, moving to Weekend Anchor, then morning co-anchor, and then KRBC Evening Anchor/Lead Producer. During her almost five years in Abilene, Kathleen was an advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence, partnering with local non-profits to tell countless stories, including her own story of being a survivor.
Kathleen is thrilled to continue her journey in Lubbock and bring news that matters to you. When she’s not working, you can find Kathleen spending time with her husband, Hunter, and daughter, Adalae, watching sports (preferably football, Roll Tide!), trying a new recipe, or shopping.
