In a year where local farmers are facing tough conditions in the field, this was a critical and imperative step in securing the development and enactment of the 2018 Farm Bill on time before the current one expires in September.
This week's Ag Journal takes a look at how the 2018 Farm Bill is doing. It passed in the House last week and is expected to be voted on by the Senate this week. However, it is unlikely to pass as is because of changes to the SNAP program, or what was known as food stamps.
