Three arrests made in connection to body found in Floyd County

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Texas Rangers arrested three individuals in connection to the body found in Floyd County on May 16. 

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Mario Baquera, Bryce Gonzalez, and Blayke Sistrunk were arrested around midnight on May 17 for various charges.

Lieutenant Bryan Witt, a spokesperson for DPS, said all three individuals are now in the Lubbock County Jail. 

Witt said the investigation is still ongoing and more updates will be provided as it progresses. 

The charges for each individual are as follows: 

  • Mario Baquera, Plainview, charged with Manslaughter
  • Bryce Gonzalez, Plainview, charged with tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse
  • Blayke Sistrunk, Plainview, charged with tampering with evidence and retaliation
