Husband’s Ashes Stolen in Central Lubbock House Theft

On Sunday Night Janey and her son returned from an East Texas outing with family when they found their home in Central Lubbock ransacked.

“We left Friday morning and got back about ten last night, we walked in the house and it was totally turned over,” Janey said.

Items stolen included a TV, jewelry and purses. More importantly, also missing, were her husband’s, Steve’s, ashes and keepsakes of her still-born Grandson, Eros Wayne.

“You can have all the crap, the material stuff because if it means that much to you, you can have it. I can replace that eventually but my husband’s ashes and my grand baby’s things. What do you want those things for? What could they possibly mean to you,” Janey added.

She has filed a police report and officials arrived on scene to dust for fingerprints.

“All we do is work, we’re just trying to get back on our feet and I feel like I’ve been pushed back ten steps,” Janey said.

Janey and her son moved here 5 months ago. Her husband passed in 2011 and Eros passed in 2015.
