KAMC’s Storm Team Meteorologist Alex O’Brien has the forecast for 11.8.18.
TODAY: Another day of overcast and chilly weather is expected today. The forecast high for Lubbock is 49 degrees. There is a 10% chance of light rain or drizzle with accumulations less than 0.10″. Make sure to bundle up! Another push of chilly air moves in tonight and winds will pick up from the northeast. Tonight Lubbock will reach a low of 34, while north towards Plainview temperatures will likely drop below freezing.
TOMORROW: A cold start in the low 30s Friday will be followed by yet again a cold day. The high temperature tomorrow in Lubbock will be 50 degrees, which will be 15-20 degrees below average for the South Plains. The clouds will begin to break up and the sun come back out.
LOOKING AHEAD: This weekend expect more sunshine and a gradual warming trend. Saturday and Sunday will both me in the low to mid 50s though, so we are still trending below average. Saturday will be breezy during the afternoon, and by the Texas Tech Football game, temperatures will drop to the 40s. Bundle up if you are heading to the Jones! Sunday starts sunny and warmer, but a strong cold front moves in on Sunday night. Temperatures may reach freezing Monday morning and a wintry mix of precipitation is likely.
