Some smoke may be common at a barbecue restaurant, but usually not after they are closed for the night.

Unfortunately, that was the case at Pinkie’s Barbecue early Monday morning. Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to reports of heavy smoke at their location in the 4700 block of 4th Street around 12:30 a.m.

There were also some reports people in the strip center had been evacuated.

Right now, EverythingLubbock.com is waiting on more details from LFR. We will update this article as soon as that becomes available.
