Local Mexican restaurant deals with break-in

KAMC News

A local Mexican restaurant, Arandas Taqueria, was broken into early Thursday morning.

When employees walked into the restaurant they said they noticed windows and doors broken with glass all over the floor.

“We got here in the morning, the window was broken, there were bricks inside like big bricks, and the window was broken, they tried to come in through the window,” said Dulce Trejo, an employee.

Trejo said this was not the first time something like this has happened to them. She said they’ve had several attempted break-ins.

“It’s happened two or three times,” Trejo said.

However, she said this is the first time someone has stolen from them.

“We walked in and first we saw the window that it was shattered and bricks everywhere, they checked the register and the money that they had there was gone,” Trejo said.

The thief got away with a couple hundred dollars. There is surveillance video that shows a man grabbing money from the cash register.

Trejo said they’re worried something like this will affect business.

“We have a lot of customers and by that happening customers are gonna be like, what if they come in and rob during the day,” Trejo said.
