Just after 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 2nd, Lubbock Police officers were called to the 2000 block of 78th street following reports of a man with a gun.
Upon arrival, witnesses told officers that the suspect, Jason McCary had shown a gun before going back inside his residence.
SWAT was called to the scene around 12:30 a.m. after McCary would not come out of that residence.
Negotiators worked throughout the morning to ensure a peaceful resolution.
Around 6:15 a.m., Thursday, August 3rd, a K-9 unit was used to help take McCary into custody.
McCary was taken to the hospital to be treated for a dog bite, and after treatment he will be booked into the Lubbock County Jail.
McCary is facing charges of Aggravated Assault, as well as Felon in Possession of a firearm.
