Update: LFR crews fight flames at overnight structure fire

Firefighters battles a structure fire early Wednesday morning in the Bayless Atkins Neighborhood in Central Lubbock. 

The fire was reported around 12:15 a.m. in the 6100 block of Avenue R. 

According to Lubbock Fire Rescue, cews arrived on scene to find flames and heavy smoke coming from the structure.

The fire was then quickly extinguished.

LFR said the Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene.

The cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.

There were no reports of injuries at the scene.
