LPD: 1 seriously injured in overnight shooting

LUBBOCK, Texas — A shooting overnight left one person seriously injured, according to the Lubbock Police Department.

The incident occurred in the 1100 block of 58th at The Ella (formerly Cricket Court Apartments).

According to LPD, officers responded to the scene following a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found an individual with several gunshot wounds.

EMS arrived to provide emergency medical services.

The victim was then transported to University Medical Center.

LPD said their initial investigation indicated that two individuals heard gunshots outside of their apartment and saw two suspects standing in front of the victim.

One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim and shot them causing serious bodily injury.

A total of three total suspects fled the scene.

LPD said the suspects were not located.
